Gestures & Nods #3: Embodied - geographies, movement, knowledge and belonging
Trondheim/Tråante, Norway
September 2026

The third edition will be hosted by Rosendal Theatre and NTNU on September 2026. It has a working title of ‘Gestures and Nods: Embodied - geographies, movement, knowledge and belonging’.

Some questions we want to address in this edition are:

Border crossings - how are the diverse migrations and mobilizations re-signifying for the body?

How are the tensions between footprints or traces and walking evidenced?

What are the differences when a politicized body performs in the public space?

In which language do we feel?

How does language affect our bodies and minds?

This edition explores how performances challenge and re-produce specific conditions of racialized and gendered citizenship and political possibility. We want to collectively think about the poetics of body art and embodied practices, to its interactions with the space(s), either “private” or public. Bodies in collective for social movements, and bodies in movement crossing borders -geographical, of gender, among others. We are specially interested in the ways in which bodies can affect and are affected by the space(s), mobilize and are mobilized.
